Interested in getting some cold water therapy in the comfort of your own garden?  These ice barrels look good (much better than those plastic & inflatable ice pods!) and are designed to be easy to use, clean & maintain.  Great for the environment too as they are up-cycled retired whisky barrels.

Fully sanded on the inside to get rid of the charring that happens as part of the whisky production process.  Sanded just enough on the outside to tidy them up but not too much (we want to preserve some character), varnished & lacquered to protect them against the elements - they add a touch of character to any garden.

They stand just under a metre high and are 800mm wide at their widest point, big enough for all but the tallest of people to get their whole body submerged in.  They can be made with or without a seat depending on your preference.  There’s also a tap for ease of emptying.

After a great deal of product testing (I am a cold water therapy fan myself) I have concluded that this size of barrel is ideal. Although the bigger ones look impressive they are slow & difficult to fill, empty & clean.  This size is ideal, super quick and easy to empty & clean which makes it an easy weekly routine.  The smaller volume also makes them easier to get to a lower temperature by adding ice, although here in Scotland there’s not many weeks in the year that the tap water isn’t cold enough for a good cold dip!

Prices start at £280 plus delivery (pick up from my workshop is of course free).  These will generally be listed as “out of stock” even though they are available - I just ask you to get in touch through the “contact us” page to discuss pick up/delivery options prior to ordering.  Production time may be up to 4 weeks, please contact us for more details.

Please note, upon receiving your ice barrel it needs to be filled with water as soon as possible and never left empty (to stop the barrel drying out and developing gaps that cause water leakage).
